    I'm not sure what to think of this storm in a teacup, including insinuations that Nightwish are using Reacticide Discord moderators to spy on and influence reactors. 🤨

    Of course bands/labels are free to give up their copyrights to reactors, and of course the reactor scene has probably helped extend the band's reach all over the world in the last few years and especially during the pandemic, but then nobody is forced to create content about a band if they can't profit from it.

    Is Nightwish using reactors (and social media in general) to their best effect as a modern-day advertising powerhouse? Most likely not, IMO their marketing team has stopped keeping up with the times in the mid-2000s or so. 😁

    Still, this guy and others are offended that NW are promoting their success attracting reactors while not encouraging them by surrendering copyrights. This success despite the impossibility to monetize reactions is quite telling, because reactors obviously still profit from their NW content by filling up on subscribers before moving on to other bands.

    Not only that, but this criticism comes from people who obviously find alternate ways to monetize their reactions, including those to Nightwish, by other means. Piece of evidence number 1:

    (As always, feel free to disagree! There is probably an argument to be made for the reactors point of view but I just don't see it now.)

    I totally agree with you on this. He made some cryptic posts a couple days or so ago on YT about record labels working with reactors. Actually thanking those companies that do. Makes sense now.

    Just gave the new song a listen. All I say is "wow, that was amazing". It almost had those Evanescence vibes out from the Synthesis era during the choruses and the verse definitely had that powerful side with outstanding lyrics and a unique structure.

    The beginning had a little RY X chill vibe to it. He's good to listen to while winding down.

    Among other things, Gordon Groothedde co-wrote After Forever's Energize Me.

    I really like the song. I give her credit for taking the risk.

    One thing I noticed though is that there are barely any pictures of Emppu. 🤔

    And the booklet text sounds like sales material for the virtual concerts company. It's titled "Another successful virtual concert promotion for Fullsteam and Zoan". 🙄😁

    I can't comment on the remastering because I haven't watched it in full yet, but the DVD image quality is lesser than the original stream -- unless there's a problem with my DVD player?

    What I immediately did was rip the files from the DVD and it seemed to be better than watching the DVD if that makes sense.

    His Shoemaker reaction was a complete mess, if I'm being honest. I really do not get the "baked" gimmick that some reactors feel the need to announce. And I am pro-weed. He had way too many interruptions that were not necessary.  Interesting that he hasn't posted any reactions since.

    I watched both nights as streamed live. I received my DVD bundle today. Ordered it mainly to support the band and crew. Nice mouse pad and booklet.

    It's not an easy call, because you're punishing the fans for atrocities they're not directly responsible for, and after all bands are still touring China while human rights violations are ongoing... It also depends on whether the violence ends quickly and how the events unfold in the coming weeks and months.

    Epica has Russian dates in June, Within Temptation plays Kiev in July...

    Maybe a .00001% chance they play those shows.

    That's a great question.  They appear to honestly enjoy working together. Has to be a kick for Henk to be loved by a new audience. I agree that it will be great if Henk joins them on stage. There will be a few chances later this year. Would they use the musical arrangement from Beste Zangers?
