I can understand this decision, and fully support them doing whatever's best for the band members, but I have to admit to feeling kinda crushed as well. I'm regretting not making it to their one New Zealand show back in 2013 more and more, and now I'm starting to think I'll never get another chance - either here or travelling to somewhere like Australia. 😞 There's not many things I love more than live music, and I might have to accept that I'll never see my all-time favourite band. It's nice to have a new album to look forward to, but still pretty deflated by this.

Exciting news for fans in those places! Really happy for them. 😀 But I guess that's a final 'no' for Australia/NZ this time - and it's a shame they weren't able to reschedule Singapore too, which I might have considered trying to get to. Ah well, hopefully one day!

She's done such an incredible job - amazing dedication. Hopefully she, the band and the crew all enjoy some well-deserved downtime now. And I liked that Sahara performance! Still interested to see see if/when those Asian dates might be able to be rescheduled for some time in 2023. Obviously I'd love NZ/Australia to be added too, but I'd settle for Asian dates at a time of the year where NZ-Singapore flights might be a bit cheaper than they were in early January! And it would be lovely to see the fans in those countries get their long-awaited opportunity.

Interesting - sounds like the Beast in Black singer may have joined the band on stage for Sahara.

Wow, Parkbühne Wuhlheide in Berlin looks stunning - what a beautiful place for a Nightwish show. I'll be a little bit jealous over here on the other side of the world, but I'll look forward to watching videos. 🙂

I love Edema Ruh! I listened to it yesterday for the first time in a while, and I'd forgotten how great it is.

Oh yeah, good point! Was trying to figure out what Metallica song Tuomas could possibly weave in, and when, and how. Seems kinda unnecessary to mention Emppu's Enter Sandman snippet since it's in the studio version and every live performance ever, but that does seem like the likeliest explanation!

Hi everyone - just a quick message to introduce myself. My name's Richard, I'm 36 years old and live near the top of the North Island of New Zealand. 🙂 I first became a Nightwish fan almost 20 years ago, when I stumbled across Century Child during my last year of high school. But then the group of friends I hung around with at university for the following few years didn't seem to think that metal was very cool, and I kind of forced myself to like what they were into so that I could fit in. As a consequence of that (and an expensive rental property I was living in at the time in Auckland), I ended up missing Nightwish's only New Zealand show to date in 2013. It's gonna take me a while to forgive myself for that! But since 2014 I've been living with a partner who loves metal (although she's more into stuff like Pantera, Metallica, industrial etc, but she still enjoys the symphonic stuff too), I've finally come back around again. I can't believe how long it took me to realise that people should just listen to whatever sounds good to their ears! But better late than never, I guess. This looks like an awesome community, and I'm happy I found it.

I was wondering this as well. Selfishly, it's brought back a tiny little sliver of hope that Australia (and maybe even my little New Zealand) might be added on if those Asian dates are rescheduled for later this year. I know that's not likely, though. It's the hope that gets you! Sahara coming back is an awesome surprise.
