A scholarly analysis of Feminine expression in Metal music, as exemplified by the work of Floor Jansen. A lecture given by University of Ottawa researcher Lori Burns. Includes deep analysis of Floor works both vocal and written (from before Nightwish era though). Complicated stuff to be sure, but it's interesting to see musical experts thinking Floor's life work is something special on many levels. Also of note because Floor herself has been known to talk about how the role and acceptance of women in the Metal scene has evolved, and that she worked very hard for that. I look forward to those shows because Floor is planning to have one professionally recorded and made available for streaming. It's the next best thing to being able to attend. Also she's not planning any public events until the vaccine is proven to work, so until then it's only Youtube, sauna and horses. Hannes didn't really know Nightwish, but was impressed with this opera singer who drank whisky and asked to share a cigar.
