    Delain

I'm still waiting as well for them to return to Toronto next tour. Hell, I'm making plans save up money and travel to other cities on their tour if they return. Along with that, I'm reading comments on Delain videos, and I am honestly still surprised that there are former fans who still go on how Charlotte is a better vocalist. When I saw some of the comments, I was thinking "What? It is all past, so why are they still not able to move on?"
  2. Apparently there was a small bit of a leak! Mika Jussila, the person behind the mastering for the album, had posted a clip inside the studio and he had forgot to turn off the audio, in which you could hear a bit of one of the new songs. The video has been removed, and I haven't heard the leak, but the Discord group I am in was flipping out about it, and they sounded excited.
  3. According to Kai, he has stated that they hope to finish mixing and mastering the album around the end of next month. He also estimates that the band will release the album around late summer to early fall. He did state that there are 12 songs for the album though, and 3 music videos with the rest being lyric videos. Regarding the tour, he said that the band won't be touring for 'two or three' years. https://chaoszine.net/there-wont-be-any-nightwish-shows-within-the-next-two-or-three-years-exclusive-interview-with-kai-hahto-from-nightwish-wintersun/
  4. Here's the music video for that new single "If You Dare", which will be featured on their upcoming debut studio album, set to be released around this first half of the year. I guess that Time II stress ball I bought back at their show in 2018 really paid off. 😂 They will also be starting a crowdfunding for the album this March, so with that, I'm assuming Time II will be released (at last) around summer or fall of this year.
  5. Finally have an update in regards to what is going on with the album, as they are currently mixing and mastering the album as predicted. I expect they will finish that around the end of the month, and then will begin filming music videos for the three songs planned. https://www.facebook.com/nightwish/posts/pfbid02LQUaLZXExs7CYGEmrERSJfCqkrQu7rQhsJD4L2CAjN237vG85HWuXFwn1Kh2TwFql I don't see Nightwish embracing AI, considering they had an almost-similar theme with their song "Noise" on their previous album.
  6. I think it's because the album is still in a mixing and mastering stage. Floor and Troy have most likely completed their vocal parts, and the recordings are probably in the process already. Back in 2014, they did announce EFMB around this time, though it wasn't until mid-late January in 2020 when we got some news regarding Human. :II: Nature. and its release. So maybe around January like before?
  7. Well, Delain's Dark Waters is definitely up there for 2023's Album of the Year for sure! I haven't heard a lot from the new Within Temptation album as I still need to get a CD copy of the album, but I have heard a few songs. Xandria, I've heard mostly the singles, but I have yet to listen to my copy of the album. This year, I also enjoyed Kamelot's new album The Awakening, which features Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum, as well as the debut Angus McSix album which is led by former Gloryhammer vocalist Thomas Winkler. Ghost's EP Phantomime is mostly cover songs, but is there for sure, as well as the new Arjen Lucassen project, Supersonic Revolution.

    Delain

I may be wrong, but I think there was a comment that the Delain facebook page or Martijn said on FB that Delain was preparing a second North American leg for Dark Waters.
  9. Looks like Floor's vocals are already finished. No update on Troy's vocals, though I am certain he has already finished his vocal parts. So, I guess next up if I am correct, is the mixing and mastering.
  10. They probably migrated over to the Nightwish Family group on Facebook, or the Walden of Our Own group on Discord? Maybe both?
  11. It was probably going to be the usual festival performance in my honest opinion.
  12. You are very lucky! If I do get a cat one day, I'm definitely going to have to name it after one of the cats from the musical! I've been considering Asparagus, Munkustrap, Grizabella or Skimbleshanks.
  13. And it looks like all the orchestral parts have been completed.
  14. I have no issues with an orchestral piece on any of their albums. Growing up listening to classical music, I welcome any band that experiments with just orchestra.
  15. I haven't heard any word if they have joined another label or extended their contract yet. Perhaps they have become more private about it? 🤔

    Amaranthe

I'll be seeing them in Toronto this November. They'll be performing alongside DragonForce.
  17. This is obviously my speculation on them not touring for the next album, but I think they will be back to touring afterwards, though I think they will start playing more a limited number of shows. They only performed a couple of shows on the North American tour, so I think they will start limiting where they will perform continent-wise considering the projects like Auri, and Floor's solo career as well. I think that if that acoustic album they've talked about for years comes out (which Tuomas has said would be the band's final album), I'm hoping they will go and perform around the world for one more final tour.

    Delain

Was at the Toronto show. I had arrived earlier than I thought at 9am. I was waiting for a bit because the band was late arriving to the venue (Velvet Underground), and they didn't arrive until 2pm which was when the load-in began. The band came out though, and Martijn signed my copy of Apocalypse & Chill. Diana then came out and I got to have a selfie with her, and she said hello to two or three others before joining the band to go inside. Met Ronald as well, who signed my copy of April Rain. The other band Visions of Atlantis arrived shortly after, although we left Clémentine alone because she wasn't in the mood to chat. At 6pm, we got inside for the VIP and it started with the signings first. Sander was the first one I met from the table, he signed my copies of April Rain, We Are The Others and The Human Contradiction, as well as Dark Waters, which was then signed by all the other members in the band. Diana was the last one at the table, and I got to chat with her a bit while she was signing my copy of Dark Waters and the postcard (who I was getting for a friend). I asked her what her favorite Disney movie is, and she said "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast". She asked me what my favorite Disney movie is, and I said that it was "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". After that was photos, though I made sure to bring my signed stuff in my bag to coat check before the photos. Then, it was the VIP acoustic set which was only one song, "Mirror of Night". After that, I took my place at the front of the stage. The merch table (run by Robin La Joy) had a $250 keyboard signed by all of the members. I would have gotten that if I could, but I took the train to Toronto and didn't have a car, so I didn't get it. Some of the concertgoers watched my spot while I got a tour shirt for me, as well as a shirt for the single cover of "Moth to a Flame". Visions of Atlantis came on first, and it was met with positive reception from the audience. They pulled off a great set, even for eight songs. Yeah, I did the rowboat interaction that Michele had asked all of us to do. A friend of mine who came to the show arrived mid-set, so he missed about four songs, but managed to be there for the last four. I could tell he had a load of fun as I did as I would later see him the next day for Beast in Black. It was after the show that I found out they will be back for a headlining tour in April, so I will definitely be checking out VoA more now that I enjoyed their set. Delain came on after, and pulled a fantastic performance with the new lineup to a borderline sold-out venue. There were a lot of cheering from the audience, and at one point before a song, Ronald pointed out a fan that was attended and said that fan had seen the band around 2,000 times, which blew my mind. They performed many of their hits as well as new songs from their recent album. During the final song, I had a piece of paper asking if I could have the set list. Diana handed me her set list after the bows. I was getting a drum stick for a friend from Sander, its broken tip landed square on my hand, which HURT LIKE HELL, and poked in. But I managed to get the drum stick for my friend. It would be 10 - 20 minutes until I put hand sanitizer on my hand because the poke from the broken drum stick bled a little bit, even did the whole "kissing hand" technique - but I shouldn't be too worried as it didn't poke too deep. If I did, I would have to go and get a tetanus shot. After the show, I waited outside by the tour van until midnight which was when they came out. The band signed my VIP pass on the lanyard, as well as the set list. I told Diana that she sounded amazing, and told her she would be great as Christine Daae in the musical The Phantom of the Opera. She thanked me for the compliment, with both me and her sharing a hug afterwards. I did ask her if she was a soprano, and she said that she thinks so. Clémentine from VoA was outside while we were waiting, and she told me her vocal range was indeed a soprano. Michele was also there, and he signed my Delain setlist as he guested on that show. After both bands went to their tour buses, I went home. I then got Yannis' signature on my copy of Apocalypse & Chill the next day at the Beast in Black show. Overall, the new lineup showed incredible promise and presented a formula that worked together. I will definitely see Delain again, and I plan to catch VoA the next time they are in town.
  19. Alright, a good question, who has seen a musical on stage? Well, I ask this because I recently have started going to a blend of both concerts and musicals / plays this year. When I was 8 or 9 years old in the early 2000s, I went with a friend to the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto to see a stage performance of The Lion King, which was my first exposure to the theatre scene - although we are not exactly like Broadway in New York which I hope to go to one day, as I went to NYC a few times back as a kid but never got the chance to see a Broadway show there. Hopefully I'll do that one day, or see a show on the West End in London, England. I do remember growing up with the musical Cats as a kid, though I missed my chance twice to see it. Because I started going to musicals recently, I ended up going to see Rock of Ages on its closing nightat the Elgin in Toronto back in May - which kickstarted me back into musical theatre. Though I thank The Phantom of the Opera for getting me back into musicals, with a huge thanks to Nightwish for re-introducing it back to me when I first began listening to them. I have also seen Hamilton, and a more local Canadian production called Let's Dance. Soon, I will be going to see Jesus Christ Superstar, In Dreams, 42nd Street and Chris Mrs. Have any of you seen any musicals? If so, which one(s)?
  20. If I am correct: after keyboards, I believe orchestrations comes next, and then vocals for the finishing touch. After that, it's mixing and mastering.

    Delain

I'll be seeing them in Toronto. Already have my VIP meet and greet ordered, so it should be a lot of fun.
  22. Due to Floor's health issues, the last show of the tour in Oslo has been cancelled, which pretty much wraps up the tour.
  23. The Vaasa show is pretty much the same as the previous show, although "Our Decades in the Sun" has been taken off of the set.
