Fugazi
I'd like to start with a mention of ThiccGeek, my favourite non-professional NW reviewer. He's not a (real or pretend) vocal coach, just a Tarja-era fan who moved away from NW during the Anette era, and only recently rediscovered NW not even knowing that they had a new singer for a couple of years now. His rediscovery of GLS as sung by Floor at Wacken is well worth the listen! He seems like an authentic guy, and his point of view as a reborn fan is interesting. Fugazi
This guy seems to have liked his first NW experience, even though he chose an unusual entry point: studio Nemo. He's a prog head, so I'm sure he will be blown away by NW (like I was) with his next reactions. mabla
I enjoyed the GLS reaction of this "voice teacher". Some nice explanations on Floors voice and techniques that ended with a "Floorgasm" for him 😁 John Henny Vocal Studio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUk9pmBElQ0 🤘

It's nice to see an old connoisseur notice Tuomas' progressive (like in prog rock) songwriting. Songs like GLS, Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean, TGSOE and many others lean heavily into the progressive rock/metal influence (key changes, mood changes, long-winded songs with chapters or movements, atypical instruments...) Her comment was informative, it's not easy to make a fresh and original reaction to a song that's been reacted to death already! 😆 This self-admitted "prog-rock dinosaur" (John Henny) has posted a new reaction, it's The Poet and The Pendulum this time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWzHgdZMwS8 And one of my favourites, Chase Carneson, is appraising Human Nature in track order. mabla
GLS reaction vids keep popping up. Some of them have some nice added value for different reasons. Fugazi
I guess this is appropriate for the day and time. Music Teacher - Endlessness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k-Ddsaxm_k One of my favourites on the new album, and sadly one that we're likely never hear sung live by Marko... Fugazi
Why is it that when these reputable reactors get to TPATP they end up analyzing the lyrics instead of focusing on what they're expert at, the music -- or the singing? I can interpret the lyrics myself and in the end no one else was in Tuomas' shoes when he wrote this song. I mean, Big Brain Singer and Chase Carneson are great reactors and I love their work, but in my opinion they both missed the boat when reacting to this particular song. There was probably much more in terms of artistic choices and technical stuff to talk about that they missed because of this focus on explaining the lyrics or the background of the song (things that most fans are very educated about already). Was it fan pressure to "prepare" to the song and "read up" on the background? Sorry for the rant! 😋 I still love you two fine reactors!
