Not really Xandria news but related: Dianne van Giersbergen teases a solo album... to be released in 5 years?!
It sort of is. Dianne used to be a member of Xandria after all. 😛

"𝙎𝙊𝙐𝙇𝙒𝘼𝙍𝘿 𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙉𝘿"
"Soulward Bound" will be a symphonic metal album on which my operatic voice will once more soar and blossom. It will feature many befriended musicians from the genre and will be co-written and produced by Joost van den Broek.
I've chosen "Soulward Bound" as my album title, as it embodies the drive and devotion that guided me on my journey towards finding myself again, after leaving Xandria 5 years ago.
In the upcoming 5 years, I will release various singles that will together form this journey and will become "Soulward Bound".
The release date and title of my first single will be announced in one of the following updates!
Happy new year to all of you!
Let's make 2023 count!"
Excellent to hear that she is working on her own material, and I look forward to hearing what she has to offer in her solo career. I had the opportunity of meeting her twice when she was with Xandria.

New single, "One More Flag in the Ground", now is out as of yesterday with a music video.
In a topic on Discord, someone stated that Kobra Paige contributed backing vocals for this one, but I have not been able to find any sources confirming this as the album hasn't come out yet because the booklet would state who contributed.

A new teaser for the upcoming album. The title and its tracklist has been leaked, but I like how they blur out the title and the special guests.
I have heard a rumor however, that Simone Simons will have a guest appearance on the album. Is it true? 🤔 I hope so, because the last time she was on a Kamelot album with Poetry for the Poisoned.

Wait what? It took them 6 years to translate it? 🤔 Or was it available before and this is a reprint?
I was on Backstage Rock Shop at that time I reported on it. I believe it is the first time I've seen it in that language format.

"I'd love to play "Procession". It's one of my favorite songs from the new album. But for some reason, it was just left out. We haven't even rehearsed it. But I'd love to bring that at some point. It's a very underrated song. We all like it in the band." -- Well it's a downer thematically and musically, but I'd love to hear it live at least once.
It'll definitely be interesting to hear "Procession" live in concert. It's probably too much to bet, but I'm hoping to have my fingers crossed for the band to perform the first disc of Human. :II: Nature. in its entirety at the Kitee show, but at the same time, am not holding my breath on that.

Kamelot will be starting their upcoming tour in support of their new album which still hasn't come out, but has been said by the band that it is coming out in March 2023. The new tour called Awaken the World will feature special guests like Myrath, Eleine and League of Distortion. This will be after their Latin American tour with Turilli / Lione Rhapsody in February - which will have Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum touring with them.

Anyway, another surprise in Hamburg tonight, the long awaited (by some, anyway 😁) first live performance of
PANOur Decades In The Sun! Can't wait to see videos. I wonder if it will sound any different from the solo Floor version. You almost had me there! I thought they would have performed "Pan", but this is a bigger surprise.
Found out that it is an acoustic version of the song:

Indeed, and if they're considering special guests or special songs in Kitee then a DVD would sell like hot cakes!
I'd practically be begging for them to play "Pan" or "Beauty of the Beast". if it comes to special songs. For special guests, I can see Marko Hietala, Jukka Nevalainen or Sami Vanska joining to perform at least one song like the 20th anniversary concert back in 2016, though I admit it would be cool to see Tony Kakko joining for a performance of "Astral Romance" if they perform that one.

Nightwish return to Stockholm, Sweden on June 3 this year! Must be a way of making up for the cancelled Atlas Rock festival performance. Either way, this is good news.
